Hudong Zhonghua accumulatively completed and delivered 40 LNG storage and transportation ships

On October 25, Hudong Zhonghua (Shipbuilding) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group, joined hands with China Shipbuilding Industry Trade Co., Ltd. to name and deliver "Shaolin", the first ship of the series of 174000 cubic meters large liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers built for COSCO Shipping's China National LNG Transportation Project, in Changxing Shipbuilding Base of China. This is a joint effort of China Shipbuilding Group, COSCO Shipping Group and CNPC to implement the national energy development strategy. It is also the 40th LNG storage and transportation ship completed and delivered by China in the past 25 years, creating a new milestone in China's LNG industry chain.

It is reported that "Shaolin" is a mainstream LNG carrier in the world, independently developed and designed by Hudong Zhonghua, with a total length of 295 meters, a shape width of 45 meters, a shape depth of 26.25 meters, a speed of 19.5 knots, and a classification of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). According to the characteristics of the ship's operating route, the ship type design has been further optimized. The latest generation of dual fuel low-speed propulsion power system in the world has been adopted, and advanced environmental protection devices have been designed and equipped, so that the daily fuel consumption is less than 100 tons. In addition, under the operation mode of gas or fuel oil, its emissions can meet the most stringent standards of the International Maritime Organization, which has been praised by the ship owner.
